Jordi Mir Garcia holds a PhD in Humanities and he lectures in Humanities at the Pompeu Fabra University and in Political Science and Sociology at the Autonomous University of Barcelona.
His research and teaching focus mainly on the history of ideas, moral and political philosophy, and the action and thinking of social movements. He is a member of the Centre for Studies on Social Movements (UPF) and of the University System Observatory. He has published Movimientos sociales construyendo democracia. 5 años de 15M (ed. 2015) and, together with Salvador López Arnal has edited different works by Francisco Fernández Buey published by El Viejo Topo such as Para la tercera cultura. Ensayos sobre Ciencias y Humanidades, Sobre federalismo, autodeterminación y republicanismo, Sobre Manuel Sacristán and 1917. Variaciones sobre la Revolución de Octubre, su historia y sus consecuencias.
