Elisenda Pallarés Piquer

Journalist.

Graduate in Communication from the Universitat Jaume I of Castellón and Master in Advanced Journalism and Reporting from the Universitat Ramon Llull of Barcelona. She has been trained in the pre-colonial history of sub-Saharan Africa and has done research on contemporary cultural expressions in Africa. She has worked in the corporate communications sector in different companies in Costa Rica and in the publishing sector as head of communications for Grupo Planeta’s Ariel, Crítica and Península imprints. As a journalist she has focused on the rights of migrants, the LGTBI community and the consequences of armed conflicts. She has reported in places like Kenya, Ethiopia, the Saharawi refugee camps in Algeria or Hungary and has published as a freelance journalist in media such as La VanguardiaDiari Ara or La Marea. He has also worked for television stations such as Betevé or Televisió de L’Hospitalet. She currently works for La Marea and Climática, a magazine specialized in informing and educating about global warming and the loss of biodiversity.
