César Rendueles

Philosopher, sociologist and essayist.

César Rendueles was born in Girona in 1975, grew up in Gijón and lives in Madrid. He holds a PhD in philosophy from the Complutense University of Madrid and is Lecturer of Sociology at the same university, as well as researcher and director of various cultural projects at the Círculo de Bellas Artes in Madrid. He has published a large number of articles and essays, including Sociophobia (2017, Colombia University Press) and Capitalismo canalla (2015, Seix Barrial), En bruto. Una reivindicación del materialismo histórico (2016, Catarata), Los bienes comunes (2016, Icaria) and Contra la igualdad de oportunidades (2020, Seix Barrial). His areas of research are political philosophy and the epistemology of the social sciences. He has worked on issues related to the normative and empirical analysis of inequality and the theory of the commons, as well as the analysis of Marxist tradition.
