Marta G. Franco

Journalist specialising in the free and distributed social web.

An inhabitant of the internet since 1999, she has been involved in Indymedia, several hackmeetings and hacklabs in occupied social centres and an attempt at a free social network called Lorea/N-1. She played an active role in 15M, ran the technology section of the newspaper Diagonal and was a mediator in the Medialab-Prado digital culture centre. She also did a stint in Madrid City Council, where she was in charge social networks and political communication. Most recently, she has been continuing in her efforts to keep the internet a habitable place and working with social organisations, mostly with the research and digital strategy collective Laintersección.
