What does innovation mean?

We live in an era characterized by constant change and updating processes. Faced with stagnation, obsolescence or the difficulties to manage complexity, we often call to “innovation”. The term has become a mantra of the information and knowledge society. But what is innovation?

At CCCB LAB we have decided to investigate on the different existing conceptions of innovation in order to clarify positions, reveal similarities and differences and understand, finally, what are we talking about when we talk about innovation. Through a series of interviews with scientists, artists, intellectual, experts in new media and cultural managers we try to reflect on the diversity, richness and dilemmas that affect the concept. We also want to know what you think, and how do you understand innovation in the cultural sphere.
