Sebastián Pérez

Doctor in Astrophysics from the University of Oxford and musician, he works on the convergence between art and astronomy.

Doctor in Astrophysics from the Oxford University, specialising in the study of the formation of planets and in the physics of protoplanetary disks around young stars and of black holes. He is currently a Post-Doctoral Researcher at the University of Chile and a member of the Millenium Alma Disk Nucleus research group on protoplanetary disks (madnucleus.com). Pérez is a man of many talents: astronomer, musician, charanga player, and speaker, he directs and participates in projects at the crossroads of Art + Astronomy in collaboration with the Museo de Arte Contemporáneo in Santiago, Chile. He is interested in using astronomy and music to carry out multidisciplinary, real and effective educational projects geared towards motivating and inspiring new generations of girls and boys.
