Susana Arias

Head of Mediation at CCCB.

Susana Arias (Lugo, 1973) has been in charge of programming and management at the Barcelona Institute of Humanities for the past five years, where she fostered the inclusion of new voices, perspectives and audiences in its programme. With a Bachelor’s in Communication Studies from the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona (UAB), she earned a Master of Arts in Cultural Studies from Goldsmiths College at the University of London. She has worked as an associate professor in the Department of Journalism at the UAB and as an editor and head of publications at Herder Editorial, where she coordinated the publication of major projects like the Diari filosòfic (Philosophical Diary) by Hannah Arendt and the Enciclopèdia d’obres de filosofia (Encyclopaedia of Philosophical Works) by Franco Volpi. With more than 20 years of experience in the fields of culture and the humanities, she has been associated with the CCCB since 2010 by curating and coordinating numerous projects and envisioning and managing cooperation programmes with a variety of local and international institutions.
